Healing begins in connection and unfolds through presence.

Welcome

When we feel deeply seen, heard and accepted, something begins to soften. We create space to understand ourselves with greater compassion, connect with what feels authentic, and move towards meaningful and lasting change.

At Threads of Connection, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you are welcome exactly as you are. Whether we meet individually or within the shared experience of a group, our work begins by gently creating the safety and trust needed for honest exploration. As we slow down together, there is space to listen more deeply to your experiences, honour your unique story, and discover the possibilities that emerge through greater awareness, compassion and connection.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, the impact of trauma, or simply sensing that something in your life is asking for your attention, you are welcome here.

“Always and at every point, the heart remembers who we are…each of us carries the book of our life inside our heart”  John O’Donohue

Meet Sophie

Thank you for being here.

I'm a PACFA registered Counsellor and Transpersonal Art Therapist with a deeply relational and holistic approach to therapy. I believe that healing begins in connection, and that when we feel genuinely seen, heard and accepted, we begin to create the conditions for meaningful change.

Over the past eight years, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and facilitating therapeutic art groups across Sydney and The Blue Mountains. Within women's centres, alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services, domestic and family violence services, community organisations and youth programs as well as running retreats and workshops. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the many ways people experience adversity, healing and growth, while fostering a profound respect for the resilience, courage and wisdom that each person carries, even in life's most difficult seasons.

Beyond my professional work, I hold a deep appreciation for social and environmental justice and the ways our wellbeing is innately connected to our relationships, our communities and the natural world. I continue to be inspired by contemplative practices, earth-based traditions and ways of living, creativity, and the wisdom found in story, symbolism and the deeper patterns that shape our lives. These influences gently inform the way I hold therapeutic space, whilst always honouring each person's own beliefs, values and unique way of making meaning.

Whether we work together through individual sessions, groups, workshops or retreats, my intention is to offer a space where you can slow down, feel safe to be yourself and connect with your own capacity for healing, growth and meaningful change.

“Through the creative act, we reclaim our voices, rewrite our narratives, and empower ourselves and each other to heal.”

Ways we can work together

Individual Counselling & Art Therapy

A one-to-one therapeutic space where you can explore life's challenges, deepen self-understanding and supports your emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

Our work together is guided by your individual needs and goals. While we often begin through conversation, I may gently weave in art therapy and other creative or experiential approaches where they support your therapeutic journey. No artistic experience is needed—only a willingness to explore what feels meaningful to you.

Therapeutic Groups

Shared therapeutic spaces where connection, reflection and creativity foster healing and personal growth. Whether focused on wellbeing, personal development or creative expression, these offerings provide opportunities to reflect, share and discover alongside others in a supportive environment.

Workshops & Retreats

Thoughtfully created and facilitated workshops and retreats. These nourishing and immersive experiences offer the opportunity to pause, soften, deepen self-understanding and explore through contemplative practices, play, creativity and connection with yourself, others and the natural world.
